The StringLines
Brigitte Bouquet

My latest body of work, The StringLines, is inspired by skeleton pods and vertebrae shapes. They are fluent in form, taking on many shapes to reflect and answer the environment they are in. They hint at spinal columns with delicate textured pods, with the rough leather string allowing them to morph. The StringLines Beads are part of a new chapter within the series.
The beads quietly defy gravity as they hang suspended and are floating just off the ground. Only allowing minimal movement.
In A Comet’s Shadow
Ariel Bullion Ecklund
The sculptures that comprise this new body of work, In A Comet’s Shadow, were created in direct response to Ann Lee Fuller’s oil paintings. The ephemeral, atmospheric qualities within Ann’s works parallel my own feelings of awe and wonder in regard to both the physical and metaphysical universe. From experience, I am acutely aware of our physical impermanence. To exist on this earth is to simultaneously commit oneself to daily mundane routine while embracing the magical and living amongst unimaginable beauty and miracles. I often dwell on this irony. These vessels stand as quiet celebrations, tangible markers of the passing of time
and gentle reminders of our own existence. Reminiscent of ancient vessels, the forms have been glazed to echo the textures of
land. Lava and magma - like, the craggy surfaces replicate the beautiful chaos of both creation and destruction.
